Abbeville is a clean, traditional WordPress theme created for personal journals, independent blogs, and thoughtful long-form writing. It keeps the focus on photographs and words, with a restrained design that feels polished without becoming distracting.
Built for WordPress’s Classic Editor, Abbeville uses familiar pages, posts, menus, featured images, categories, tags, and custom fields. It does not require the block editor, a page builder, or a collection of layout plugins.
(Please note, while Abbeville does not require the Classic Editor, and Gutenberg can be used, it is not yet fully optimized and visually tested for Gutenberg.)
Designed for Personal Publishing
Abbeville is especially suited to journal entries, essays, photography, travel writing, reading notes, and other personal publishing. Posts are presented in a spacious single-column layout with support for featured images, tags, comments, and automatically responsive video embeds.
Older and newer navigation makes it easy to move through a journal chronologically, while dedicated Archive, Category, and Search pages help readers explore the complete site.

Flexible Color Options
Abbeville includes a Theme Colors screen for changing backgrounds, text, links, navigation, borders, and accent colors. Changes can be previewed before they are saved.
